My grandfather said it first: “We wouldn’t trade places with anybody!” That is because we are proud to be a central Nebraska beef producer. Our Nebraska farming and ranching history began when my great-grandfather settled near Cozad in 1880. We operate a commercial Red Angus herd, and we have found ourselves adapting our operation to fit into the beef cattle niche markets. We raise natural Red Angus calves, and we can say that through retaining ownership, we can ensure that our cattle are handled in a humane and quality environment from our pasture, to your plate.
Though our operation has been in business for the past 100 years, the cattle farms of Montgomery family are fully equipped to meet the needs of the beef market of the future. We understand that the beef industry is changing, and we are mindful of the demands of the 21st century consumer. With the practices and values of our ancestors in mind, we look to the future determined to provide high quality, safe and natural beef. It is our hope that the cattle raised on our farm continue to be a top-notch product well in the next 100 years.
